            Abstract :
High-numerical-aperture (NA) lenses of 1.5 and 0.85 NAs were applied to the optical disk systems. The areal recording densities of 45 and 16.5 Gbit/in./sup 2/, achieved with an InGaN semiconductor laser, predict future optical storage systems.
