Abstract :
Fault detection and isolation (FDI) is an integral part of monitoring the health of a plant. Any FDI technique is expected to be sensitive to faults, and insensitive to noise and modelling uncertainties. In this paper, we present a method based on input-estimation that is able to detect and isolate actuator faults. It naturally accounts for both process and measurement noise. By introducing multiple models, the technique is shown to handle reasonably well modelling uncertainties.
