Abstract :
In recent years, significant increase in the demand of energy due to urbanization and industrial growth is recorded. Various research efforts have been carried out for the optimal design of modern power distribution systems. To meet the load growth in optimal manner and overcome pseudo dynamic behaviour of different network parameters, the distribution system capacity expansion is needed. Distribution system capacity expansion of includes installation and/or reinforcement of feeders, substations and distributed generation units are taken into consideration. Several methods and models have been proposed recently for the solution of the distribution system capacity expansion planning. This paper presents an overview of the state of the art models and methods applied to the modern distribution system capacity expansion planning, analyzing and classifying current and future research trends in this field.
