Abstract :
We have investigated an efficient multiple pumping pulse configuration including two 150 ps prepulses and one 100 fs main pulse for transient Fe X-ray lasers. Simulation results suggest that a high repetition rate and high gain tabletop X-ray laser at 255 /spl Aring/ can be achieved with a total pumping energy of less than 0.4 J.
