Abstract :
With the development of automatic control technology, the various types of switches are widely used in control systems, especially in the power systems, these switches can timely record the action time and running status of each device, which will also affect the reliable and stable operation of power system. SOE (sequence of event) is a time-stamp synchronization with switching input displacement event, it records the change of the switches in the entire power systems. We pick up the data from SOE, and convert it to a common format suitable for IEEE standard called COMTRADE type. The main content of this paper is based on the data of COMTRADE, to analyze the waveform of short-circuit fault current, not only figuring out the maximum and minimum of the current, but also finding out the start time and duration of short-circuit faults.
