Abstract :
With more and more wind farms connected to the power grid, the problem of wind farm reactive power compensation margin is becoming more and more important. In this paper, the reactive power compensation margin of an actual wind farm under static operation situation is analysed. Firstly, the source of reactive power loss in the wind farm is analysed theoretically. And then, the reactive power compensation margins of the wind farm, under the condition of N-1 and N-2 of reactive power compensation device are analysed respectively. Finally, the reactive power compensation margin of the wind farm under the voltage and transformation tap in the range of allowed changes with the N-1, N-2 of reactive power compensation device is presented.
