Abstract :
Letting the interconnected wind farm actively provide spinning reserve control ability on the electrical power system has become a new challenge to both the dispatching departments and wind farm operators. In this paper, methods such as taking rotor inertia kinetic energy of the Variable Speed Wind Turbines into Wind Farm Spinning Reserve Capacity are suggested for the purpose of making full use of the rotor inertia energy in frequency control or emergence reserve control. Basing on the actual operation scenarios of wind farm, this paper proposes the optimal reserve mode, the optimal scheduling mode as well as the mathematical optimal model. Case analyses demonstrated that the optimal reserve mode can minimize the wind power shedding, bringing considerable economic benefits; mean while the optimal scheduling mode can maximize the whole wind farm spinning reserve capacity and provided stability to the electrical power system.
