Abstract :
The VANET requires fast and reliable data transmission, the multi-path transmission makes the transmission more efficient. Although there are some existing multi-path transmission control protocols, the transmission performance is still a big issue caused by the link-heterogeneity in VANET. To solve the bottleneck problem and improve the transmission efficiency, we propose a novel Network Codes-based Multi-Path transmission control protocol(NCMPTCP), which provides an efficient and reliable transmission in VANET. NCMPTCP takes advantage of network coding to eliminate the difference of data packets. Moreover, we design a redundancy control algorithm and a scheduling algorithm based on the estimated delivery time. These not only effectively reduce the transmission delay, but also make a big improvement of the throughput. Extensive simulations successfully validate our proposed protocol.
