  • Abstract
    In order to solve the problem of low channel utilization of original multi-channel operation in VANET, an adaptive multi-channel operation mechanism is proposed considering the completion situation of the data transmission. The nodes will keep on the service channel (SCH) for transmitting and not switch onto the control channel (CCH) until there is collision or WAVE short message. It can improve the average effective data transmission and decrease the access delay by increasing the SCH interval. And the simulation results show that, compared with the original mechanism, the proposed mechanism has better performance in channel utilization, throughput and reduction of average delay of network.
