Abstract :
This study explores the potential landslide susceptibility area in Cameron Highlands, Malaysia that experiences high number of soil erosion. There are more than 50 landslide identified in this region from the history landslide database. 18 landslides with complete information have been used in this study. ArcGIS were used to analyze the input data and causative factors. Experimental results shows that slope of 40°-50°, elevation of more than 1000 meters, areas close to roads and average rain of more than 200 mm are the main contributor to landslides. Frequency ratio method was used to evaluate the susceptibility, and shows 89.53% accuracy upon mapping to the actual landslides. The susceptibility map shows that the township and developed areas are more prone to landslide compared to the undeveloped areas.
