Abstract :
This paper presents a novel fuzzy logic based incremental conductance (IC) for maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Due to the simplicity of control algorithm, it is easier to implement, modify and tune the control rules of fuzzy controller. The proposed MPPT method provides better dynamic performance than the conventional IC MPPT method especially under rapidly changing weather conditions. The simulation results of the fuzzy logic based IC MPPT controller demonstrate faster response to the maximum power point and less oscillation around the MPPT as compared to the conventional IC MPPT method under rapid/quick variation of solar radiation. Hence, fuzzy based IC MPPT controller is superior to conventional IC MPPT controller.
