Abstract :
With the aim of improving the design efficiency and optimizing the design process, a new CAD method of automatic design for 3D tread patterns based on semantics was proposed. The concept of tire-pattern semantics is introduced, then differentiated tire tread by different semantics, according to the division result, treads designing method are given. Then 3D tread pattern automatic creating, chamfered designing, intersection processing of tire-treads. The related algorithms and principles for realization and the ways for solution were proposed. The feasibility of the related algorithms was verified by computer implementations, and the results show that the system can accomplish the automatic inspection of common tread patterns efficiently and intelligently.
