Abstract
In order to reduce the cogging torque of the permanent magnet motor (PMM), increase the permanent magnet´s air-gap magnetic density and improve the air-gap magnetic field distribution. In this paper, segmented Halbach array magnetization is used to obtain the ideal one-sided magnetic field. The paper models the finite element analysis for machine and calculates the distribution of the magnetic field lines with no-load motor by using the Maxwell Software to obtain the electromagnetic characteristics like motor´s air-gap magnetic density and cogging torque and compare and analysis with the traditional radial magnetization motor. The study shows that this method can effectively reduce the cogging torque.
