Abstract :
This research focused on the eddy current loss in the secondary of a tubular flux-switching permanent magnet linear motor (TFSPMLM). The secondary of the TFSPMLM is one whole tubby iron with slot structure, which is different with the silicon-steel sheet laminated. Hence, this paper deduced eddy current loss model of the tubular iron, and then established the calculation model of the secondary loss. According to the field component obtained by finite element analysis, the secondary eddy current loss was calculated by using the proposed model. On this basis, the distribution and variation of different losses were analyzed and compared. Finally, the loss of a prototype was tested, and results show that the measurement values are basic equal to the calculated values.
