Abstract :
With large-scale wind turbines´ trip-off from the power grid caused by overvoltages, the stability of the power system would be decreased. The restrike overvoltage from multiple reignition of circuit breakers in wind farms is one type of the main overvoltages. This paper establishes a model of reignition process in ATP-EMTP which is particularly applied in the overvoltage analysis in the overvoltage analysis of a wind farm. And it founds that the installation of proper MOA arresters in wind farms has a good effect on suppressing the restrike overvoltage.
