Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a novel downlink radio resource management scheme for a User Equipment (UE)-Relay enhanced downlink heterogeneous network. An optimal region and frequency division scheme with Fraction Frequency Reuse (FFR) is proposed to cancel the interference between the eNodeB (eNB)-Relay Station (RS) link and the RS-UE link. Moreover, a novel radio resource management scheme is designed to improve the network throughput. The proposed optimization framework jointly considers the region division parameter and the frequency division parameter. The Lagrange dual function is derived for the proposed optimization problem, and the gradient descent method is used to find out the optimal solution for the convex dual problem. Simulation results show that both the data rate of cell-edge UEs and the number of satisfied UEs can be greatly increased.
