  • Abstract
    Long Term Evolution (LTE) system has the advantages of wide bandwidth, low delay, full IP network architecture, etc. For Chinese railway mobile communication system, the evolution from GSM to LTE has become the trend of the times. This paper makes a comprehensive analysis for the characteristics of the next generation railway mobile communication system, then proposes a methodology to calculate the spectrum requirements of LTE for railways (LTE-R), and finally provides some suggestions on spectrum allocation for the next generation railway mobile communication system. This work has an important significance for LTE-R frequency planning and system design.
