  • Abstract
Railway communication technologies and architectures are powerhouse for railway techniques´ advancement. Video communication is an important communication service between train and ground. In this paper, we propose a method based on redundancy to transfer video in train-to-ground communication. Its basic idea is to deploy multiple transmitters on the train and use redundancy transmission provided by these transmitters to reduce the probability of packet lost and delivery time due to fast movement of train. We build a model to analysis the user´s QoE with this method. Based on this model, we can find the optimal encoding rate given the physical drop probability and channel rate.
