Abstract :
In this paper, a new wideband mutual coupling calibration method for adaptive antenna arrays is proposed. Many adaptive antenna arrays are characterized by the frequency band of multiple octaves. Previous wideband calibration methods could not be utilized in this case. In the new method, the entries of calibration matrix are expanded by Fourier-Bessel series. The advantage of the new method over the previous ones is that the new method is suitable for the wideband adaptive arrays with multi-octave bandwidth, and the calibration matrix at any frequency in the bandwidth can be conveniently calculated through the Fourier-Bessel series. An antenna array with about 2.5 octaves is designed to verify the effectiveness of the new method.
