An IHE based gateway architecture to link healthcare IT with medical devices in the operating room

Integrating healthcare IT with medical devices in the operating room means to bridge a gap between two different worlds, which often speak diverse languages. This paper presents an IHE based gateway architecture to overcome this interoperability gap, which is currently accompanied by proprietary gateways significantly increasing costs as requiring specific skills, resources and services.
