Abstract :
This paper presents a two diode model applied for modeling thin photovoltaic module. The case treated concerns a micromorphous (amorphous and microrcrytalline) PV module. The I-V and P-V characteristics were simulated using the parameters provided by the manufacturer in the data-sheet at standard conditions. To validate the model a comparison between the simulation results and the experimental data of the PV module tested in two different days has been carried out. It was found that the simulation results fits well the experimental curves for most of the regions for both I-V and P-V curves under different environmental operating conditions. Nevertheless for irradiation under 600W/m2 the difference between the experimental and the simulations results is still relatively high, and the model has to be improved.
