Abstract :
One of the most significant issues in integrating solar energy into the power grid is the variability of solar energy. In order to deal with this, we suggest in this paper to predict the solar energy production in a short-time interval to address the various power system requirements. The accuracy of solar power output prediction is conditioned by the accuracy of meteorological data namely, the temperature and the solar irradiance as inputs for the PV power system output. However, this production can also be the subject of important fluctuations that can occur when clouds pass over the solar panels. This phenomenon can considerably reduce their nominal production, as in clear sky conditions. And now, the question is how much of the sun´s photons are not converted into electrons when clouds pass between the sun and a large ground surface covered by PV power systems?
