Abstract :
The doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) is most exploited for wind power generation, It provides the benefits of variable speed operation by improved power quality, increased energy capture, and reduced mechanical stress on the wind turbine, The proposed algorithm presented in this paper is applied to a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) with a stator directly connected to the grid and a rotor connected to the grid through a back-to-back AC-DC-AC, PWM converter by using both control strategy, Direct Torque Control (DTC) to control the electromagnetic torque in order to extract the maximum power, and vector control for grid side converter to control the reactive power injected to the network and to regulate the DC bus voltage, the pitch control is also presented to limit the generator power at its rated value of power. Simulation results for a 1,5 MW WECS with DFIG confirm the effectiveness and the performance of the global proposed approaches.
