Abstract :
In this paper we investigate the mechanical performances of a new material for wind turbine blade. This later is a composite based on vegetable fiber performed from Hemp plant. A numerical method is used to evaluate the evolution of the blade stresses and deformation. The Hemp blade stresses and deformation are compared with the blade Aramid fiber and Carbon fiber. The results show that Hemp fibre is a competitive material for blade due to its mechanical properties, price, weight and density.
