  • Abstract
This paper addresses the impact of frequency generator stability on geosynchronous synthetic aperture radar (GEO SAR) imaging performance. Frequency stability deserves special attentions in GEO SAR due to the large round-trip delay and long integration time. The result shows that the large round-trip delay makes great contribution to intrapulse phase error and the long integration time makes the interpulse phase error cannot be neglected, thus affecting the performance of azimuth focusing. In this paper, an echo phase error model taking into account frequency stability is presented first. Then based on the power-law spectral density model of phase noise, the influence of each power-law phase noise is analyzed.
