Abstract :
This paper mainly studies target detection problem against sea clutter. Firstly, real sea clutter data is used for analyzing influence of sea clutter on target detection in time domain and frequency domain, then, the proportions of the sea clutter Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMF) energy to the whole signal energy and the influence of the target and spiky sea clutter on the proportions are discussed, Finally, target detection with the selection of IMF compares with Cell-Average (CA) detection in time domain and frequency domain. It is found that the low frequency IMF will increase obviously when the target appears, and the proportions of their energy to the whole signal energy become larger, but it will change a little when the spiky clutter appears. Compared with the target detection method directly using the CA method, target detection with the selection of IMF has better performance.
