Abstract :
For MIMO radar working in the same frequency coverage, the completely orthogonal waveforms occupied the same frequency coverage cannot be realistically found and used, which the cross-correlation noise among different waveforms is inevitable and may seriously reduce the radar performance. To address the aforementioned question, a novel algorithm based on oblique projection is proposed to separate the superposed returns in the paper. Based on the theory of signal vector space, the multiple transmitted waveforms can be considered as multiple unrelated vectors in signal vector space because of the waveform orthogonality design. Then, the returns received by each receiver can be considered as the linear combination of multiple transmitted vectors. Furthermore, the returns from different transmitted waveforms are separated from the superposed returns by oblique projection, which the aforementioned crosscorrelation noise is suppressed effectively. Finally, the numerical experiments are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
