Abstract :
This paper presents an approach to build radar environmental knowledge base (EKB), which is established based on knowledge about radar operating environment, e.g., Geographic Information System (GIS). It also presents a new knowledge-based constant false alarm rate (KB CFAR) detector utilizing multidimensional knowledge as a priori information from EKB. The performance of the new approach is analyzed by the real radar data, collected by a linear frequency-modulated continues wave (LFMCW) radar, and compared with the classical cell averaging CFAR and the KB CFAR which only uses GIS. The results show the performance of the proposed method is superior.
