Abstract
Simulink and Code environments are available in Matlab software to simulate a power system. In spite of less flexibility, Simulink is a user-friendly environment and is often easier than Code to use. To examine stability of the power system and design appropriate controllers in Simulink, researchers must have great knowledge about modern and conventional control theories. The power system may be unstable, if the parameters of the controllers are not be adjusted well. When the system becomes more complicated, finding the parameter values, which lead to the stability, becomes harder, even for expert users. This problem happens commonly, especially for control and robotics engineers. This paper proposes a novel technique to find the optimum values of the adjustable parameters (especially the parameters of the controllers) without any knowledge about control theories, when the power system has been implemented using Simulink.
