  • Abstract
    The following paper proposes two overcurrent protection schemes that are applicable for limiting the current through the main switching devices in Bridge type Inverters under shoot-through conditions. Under normal mode of operation, the high side and low side switches of the bridge converters conduct on alternate half cycles. During the commutation if the conduction states overlap the source will be short circuited, destroying the switches. A switching and a linear circuit based schemes have discussed and compared for their relative advantages and disadvantages. Simulation waveforms for the switch and load currents under different operating conditions have been included.
