Abstract
This paper presents time moment (TM) based methods for continuous time identification and control from discrete-time data using delta operator. The theory of delta operator was used to develop delta time moment (DTM). The DTMs were utilized to develop a few adaptive predictive control schemes in a model reference adaptive control (MRAC) frameworks. These control schemes were used for identification and control of a finite dimensional single input multiple output (SIMO) system in the complex delta domain. The MRAC framework calls for designing a reference model to start with, so that the compensated plant follows the response characteristics of the reference model by adjusting the compensator parameters on real-time basis. Therefore, the reference model parameters were computed in the complex delta domain from the classical time, frequency and complex domain specifications. Apart from stability, required performance criterions were also guaranteed in designing reference model. Four control schemes, namely i) Inverse control using DTM (ICDTM), ii) Pade Adapted Inverse control using DTM with error feedback (PICDTMEF), iii) Plant Delta Time Moment controller (PDTMC) and iv) Pade Adapted Delta Time Moment controller with Error feedback (PDTMCEF) were presented in this paper. The computational algorithms were tested with numerical examples which demonstrate the efficacy of these methods.
