Abstract :
In this paper we argue that multipath traffic dispersion techniques can be utilized complementary to the existing security provision mechanisms to improve network security so that the possibility of unauthorized information leakage induced by attacks along the information path is minimized. Initially, we provide an analytical framework to study and evaluate the security performance provided by multipath traffic dispersion. Based on the results achieved, we propose a heuristic multipath traffic dispersion scheme to minimize the impact of network attacks.
