Abstract
Statistical Process Control (SPC) must be viewed as a “way of life” and not just another quick-fix pill. Success takes time. Also, quality must be built around the concept of survival and blended in with other pertinent subjects, such as product applications, etc. SPC topics such as capability, control charts, and pareto analysis should be made as simple and understandable as possible. Use of video tapes is especially helpful. Finally, and most importantly, stress the fact that statistics do not control quality, people do!
