Abstract :
Photoplethysmographic signals contain physiologically meaningful features that can be related to heart rate variability, blood pressure variations, etc. This paper presents a description for the photoplethysmographic signal through the use of Empirical mode decomposition. This description allows the signal feature extraction to be simplified via traditional signal processing methods such as spectral estimation and time-frequency analysis.
