Abstract :
In this paper, a 50 watts level continuous-wave W-band TWT was designed in order to meet the high frequency wireless communication requirements. A two-step phase velocity tapering interaction circuit was designed to improve the electron efficiency which was about 6% within the working bandwidth. A two-stage depressed collector was also used to improve the spent beam energy recovery efficiency. The simulation results show that 23.6% overall efficiency was achieved.
