Development of a holonic metamodel for lifecycle support and product extension

The paper summarizes the effort spent by the authors in developing a model to enable product traceability along the entire product lifecycle and fostering product extension. The research effort adopts a holonic definition of the product and, analysing the current most important standard in product representation, proposes a reference data model.
