Agent based distributed data management for factory control

Distributed manufacturing systems, which are currently emerging more and more, require distributed control systems, and distributed control systems require distributed data management systems. These distributed data management systems have to ensure that the necessary information for control decisions are available within the decision taking entities in the moment of decision. Within this paper a general architecture and an application example for a distributed data management system for a distributed order control system is described.
