Abstract :
Restored images usually come with ring-like faculties, which not only reduce the image quality, but also affect the image fidelity. In order to restrain the ringing effect, a method is proposed to detect ringing stripe using the similarity between the image contours and ringing curve. According to the position and shape characteristics of the ringing, this method locates potential ringing stripes using the similarity between image contours and ringing curve, and calculates the image gradient value to distinguish ringing stripes and image edges and combines bilinear interpolation to eliminate ringing stripes. Experiments show that this method can effectively suppress ringing stripes appearing in the image, and improve quality of restored image.
