Abstract :
A new broadband linearizer is presented. It is most suited for wideband applications since it compensates for the amplifier memory as well as nonlinearity. Its implementation uses a nonlinear tapped delay line. The nonlinearity is implemented by a polynomial and the memory by an equalizer topology. This allows a minimal number of coefficients required for implementation. Performance shows that a memoryless look up table predistorter can only compensate for nonlinearities that show up in the adjacent channel. The nonlinear tapped delay line compensates for nonlinearity and memory; the memory shows up in band as well as out of band.
