Abstract :
The on-load capacity regulating transformer (which in this paper is short for OCRT) can really realize the automatic regulation of transformer´s capacity during the operation process with load, and can reduce no-load power losses of transformer effectively. Currently, it is lack of sufficient and corresponding safety protection measures when the faults occurred in OCRTs, and the faults will cause impact on electricity users´ electrical equipment and electric safety, as well as the application and popularization of transformer products. In order to solve the disadvantages and limitation existed in OCRTs and improve its operating reliability and security, its fault oriented safety technology was studied. Firstly, the structure characteristics and energy-saving operation principle of OCRT is expounded, an OCRT control system schematic is given, then the OCRT´s fault orientation safety technology is elaborated from five aspects, first is capacity regulating switch oil leakage fault oriented safety protection, second is protection of capacity adjusting failure in small capacity operation, third is measures of fault orientation safety when the voltage is abnormal, fourth is measures of fault orientation safety when the operation of adjusting capacity does not reach the designated position, and the last one is safety and protection measures of arcing caused by internal fault of capacity adjusting switches. Moreover, the fault orientation safety technologies are discussed from aspects of security, advancement and practicability. Through the study, the OCRT of fault orientation safety technology and equipment were configured, thus solving the problems existed in OCRT´s operation and improve its operating reliability.
