Abstract :
This paper addresses an integrated scheduling problem of production and transportation operations in an MTO supply chain with realistic features such as unrelated parallel machines and product batch-based transportation. A harmony search-based memetic optimization model is proposed to solve this problem, in which some heuristic procedures are developed to convert the investigated problem into an order assignment problem. The effectiveness of the proposed model is validated by numerical experiments and comparisons with genetic algorithm-based and traditional memetic optimization models.
