Abstract :
Due to the effects of the driving characteristics of in wheel motor when EV(electric vehicle) steering, a steering control strategy about four-wheel independent driven was presented, for increasing EV steering stability. On the basis of kinematics, combine with the performance characteristics and driving characteristics of in-wheel motor, set up the simulation model of steering on the basis of in-wheel motor. Analysis the impact of the performance characteristics of in-wheel motor on four-wheel independent driving electric vehicle with the model. Based on this, a strategy of velocity control coordinated torque control was present. EV drives straightly with velocity control strategy and steers with torque control strategy. The results indicate that the control strategy can improve steering stability, and guarantee the vehicle can immediately state driver´s intention.
