Abstract
Serial concatenated code (SCC) has drawn lots of attention by its outstanding performance in terms of reduced bit error rate (BER). It is considered that the encoding structure and decoding algorithm are the two crucial parameters for performance improvement of any code system. This paper introduces the modified structure of SCCC encoder design. The addition of a set of de-Multiplexer and multiplexer in the proposed design makes a contribution to the requirement of short delay. Performance comparison of our modified SCCC system with the Original SCCC structure in terms of BER and Latency has been performed. It is researched that modified SCCC design has better latency & marginally poor BER performance as compared to traditional SCCC structure. Hence modified SCCC design can be a better option for low latency applications & a tradeoff between latency and BER is always required while choosing codes in wireless communication.
