Abstract :
In this work, we have studied the different optical parameters of octagonal photonic crystal fiber under different liquid filled core like water, toluene and carbon disulfide (CS2). The optical properties like effective index, dispersion coefficient and nonlinear coefficient has been observed for a wavelength range of 800nm to 1600nm. Each characteristic is studied using finite element method (FEM) with a perfectly matched layer (PML). The proposed design achieved highly negative dispersion for entire bandwidth and high nonlinearity due to the properties of the liquid used.
