Abstract :
For the past few decades, an explosion of interest is being shown in the sharing of digital data over Internet. The data which are transmitted over such network environments are often subjected to eavesdropping and malicious interventions. Steganography can be defined as the practice of undetectably altering a work to embed a secret message. People are more interested in sending secret information without arousing any suspicion, in a public environment. The statistical undetectability property of steganography enables the cover image from being suspected by intruders. This paper proposes a reversible data hiding technique in encrypted images based on chaotic maps, in which the secret data is embedded into the encrypted image and the original cover image can be loselessly recovered at the receiver end.
