Abstract :
This article consists of a collection of slides from the author´s conference presentation on the X-Gene, a 64-bit ARM CPU and SoC system from Applied Micro. Some of the specific topics discussed include: cloud computing technology trends; typical form factors for cloud servers; market opportunities from hardware developers; X-Gene CPU design goals and processing modules; system specifications and processing capabilities; memory management; and new areas of product development.
