Abstract
This paper proposes the application of the continuous Tellegen´s power flow to the voltage stability problem. The continuation power flow method remains well-condition around the critical point and is basically consists in assessing voltage collapse point. This method is based on conventional load flow equations and classical Newton-Raphson´s method and suffers from improper choosing of step size control. The step size control should be chosen so that the predicted values of system parameters remain within the region of convergence of the corrector stage. The proposed method is based on Tellegen´s equations in formulating the voltage stability problem. For discussion, the proposed method and conventional continuation power flow were tested on IEEE 30-bus test system. The comparison of results shows the advantages of the proposed method.
