Abstract :
This article consists of a collection of slides from the author´s conference presentation on the end of scaling of traditional microprocessors in HPC. Some of the specific topics discussed include: a comparison of CPU versus FPGA processing; oil and gas HPC applications; the special features of FPGA compiler and accelerators; key computational kernels in the oil and gas industry; major applications supported; and future technology trends.
