Abstract :
Computer assisted surgery navigation takes full advantage of progress in engineering disciplines. Developed models increase the accuracy of replacement technique, especially in hip surgery to reduce the risk of component mal-positioning. In this paper, we present a multi-agent system for 3D model reconstruction of a human femur from Magnetic Resonance (MR) Images. The developed approach, by describing parallel agents´ behaviors can extract object of interest. The 3D CAD model generated from the results of the segmentation stage, gives possibility to determine the geometric parameters of femur then patient-specific implant geometry.
