Abstract :
This paper presents a planar monopole antenna using fractal geometry for RFID applications. Microstripline feeding technique is used to excite the antenna. Antenna is simulated and analysed using Ansoft HFSS. Size reduction is achieved in the design using fractals. Antenna was fabricated on FR4 substrate and tested. The antenna shows satisfactory gain and radiation pattern at all its resonant frequencies, i.e., 0.9 MHz, 2.2 GHz, 4.1 GHz and 5.1 GHz. The experimental and simulation results are in good agreement.
